It’s déjà vu all over again

It’s déjà vu all over again.

Early in life, we are taught to learn from our mistakes. Governor Culver has chosen to repeat them. This week, he announced he wanted to raid another $45 million from the Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Fund and plow it into his temporary government make-work plan known as I-Jobs.

Keep the momentum going - Fire Pelosi

E-mail Print PDF

The outpouring of support from Republican grassroots leaders like you has been extraordinary. In a little over 36 hours after Nancy Pelosi and Congressional Democrats rammed their government takeover of health care down the American people's throats, the Republican National Committee has almost tripled our original goal of raising $402,010 to Fire Nancy Pelosi.

Whirlwind tour reveals energy, determination among Iowa Republicans

Last weekend went by like a blur. The final count: 10 county conventions stretching from Guthrie County to Louisa. You’d think 14 hours on the road would wear a guy out, but I came away feeling more energized than ever! As I traveled from county to county, I found Republicans who are excited about our opportunities to restore principled conservative leadership to Iowa.

To seize that opportunity, we must take action!

Scrap the Plan petition

Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are ignoring the results of Scott Brown's victory in Massachusetts last Tuesday.

Instead of comprehending that voters in Massachusetts rejected the Democrats' government-run health care experiment, they are arrogantly dismissing the will of the people by attempting to jam through Congress their trillion dollar socialist scheme.

Whether it's the Pelosi-led House passing the Senate's health care bill, or Reid using a budgeting gimmick called reconciliation to pass the bill with 51 votes in the Senate, the liberal Democrats are desperate to give Obama a legislative victory on the top priority of his radical, leftist agenda -- no matter what they have to do, spend and say to achieve it.

It's clear that the American people believe, as the Republican Party does, that we must scrap the Democrats' health care "reform" bill that spends too much, cuts Medicare too much, raises premiums too much and taxes too much and is the wrong prescription for our economy. It's time for the Democrats to go back to the drawing board and work with Republicans to find sensible, affordable solutions to reforming health care.

Since Obama, Pelosi and Reid didn't listen to the voters of Massachusetts, maybe they'll listen to your voice and other Americans across the country telling them to STOP their rush to pass their risky health care gamble and start over crafting a new bill with Republicans.

America says 'Hit the Brakes'

E-mail Print PDF

If you watched President Obama's State of the Union speech last night, you saw a painfully transparent attempt to spin a tale far different from the reality Americans have witnessed over the last twelve months.

As Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have dragged our country in the wrong direction by pushing their elitist government-knows-best policies, Americans have realized that the "change we can believe in" has become change they didn't want.
